Directorate Gender Equality

Subdivision: Research

Serve as the custodians of all research programs of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare.
Ensure the continuous collection of gender disaggregated data.
Ensure the accessibility of information on regional, national and international instruments.

Section: Resource Center

Collect and store formal and statistical information on women and children's status, policies, reports, programs, data and books.
Coordinate with other local Resource Centers and Network on information distribution.

Subdivision: Legislation

Carry out legal literacy throughout the country and advocate for law reform to ensure that women, men and children benefit equally from the legal system.
Strive to achieve that women, men and children, enjoy equal care, protection and opportunities through proper legal instruments.
Ensure the implementation and reporting on regional, national and international instruments such as the NGP, CEDAW, CRC, GAD Declaration, AU Charter on People’s and Human Rights.
