Subdivision: Mainstreaming Gender

To strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare to effectively coordinate, guide, implement and monitor the National Gender Policy, National Gender Plan of Action and National Gender Mainstreaming Program.
To ensure gender mainstreaming in programs, policies, plans of ministries, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO's), parastatals and the private sector.
To build the capacity of women and men to participate effectively in their own development.

Subdivision: Women & Family Development

Implement the provisions of the SADC Gender Protocol regarding inheritance issues including will writing.
Foresee the implementation and monitoring of the national family policy
Promote education and awareness about gender equality and non-discrimination in all familial or marriage and or intimate relationships.
Promote the socio-cultural and economic wellbeing of families
Lobby and advocate for law reform and promote research to identify appropriate protection for families.
